EQUIS accreditation to activities pertaining to the field of management and business studies

School of Business and Social Sciences (BSS) has just received the official letter from EFMD’s Awarding Body stating that the school’s activities that pertain to the field of management and business studies (i.e. the Departments of Business Administration, Business Communication and Economics of Business) are granted EQUIS accreditation for the next three years.

In accordance with the usual EFMD procedures, the EFMD Awarding Body has required that improvements be made in three areas in the current accreditation period:

The areas are:

-          A more detailed and clearly stated vision and strategic positioning that facilitates the delivery of a viable and credible, albeit emerging, future.

-          The development of a clearly defined strategy with respect to internationalisation and corporate relations.

-          The articulation and communication of a clear branding message in marketing and media relations, to ensure an increase in visibility amongst all stakeholders.

–I am pleased that the re-examination has implied that EFMD has granted the EQUIS accreditation on the school’s activities that pertain to the field of management and business studies, and I welcome the required improvements as both fair and helpful in the future process, which include the very important and much needed broadening of the whole concept of business education to encompass areas such as political science, law and psychology, says Svend Hylleberg, Dean of School of Business and Social Sciences.

–BSS will work hard in order to ensure that the next EQUIS accreditation is granted for five years.

BSS now awaits the final decision on the third accreditation process, the AMBA accreditation, which has a special focus on MBA education.
